Truck tipper for the whole world
In July we visited KH KIPPER, the largest Polish manufacturer of tipping bodies, trailers and semi-trailers for trucks over 12 t DMC. About 45 tippers leave the KH KIPPER plants in Kajetanów and Skarżysko-Kamienna every week, and the annual production is over 2000. Where are they going? Most of them, up to 85%, are intended for export – most often to Western Europe and Scandinavia, but also to Ukraine and Russia. But KH KIPPER also produced a tipper truck that went to Svalbard and one that went to the nickel mine in New Caledonia. And if you ever visit Africa, don’t be surprised to see a truck with the KH KIPPER logo on the tipper, whether in Benin or the Ivory Coast.
Product quality and continuous development have enabled KH KIPPER to become an authorized partner of the truck manufacturers of the so-called Big Seven, i.e. MAN, Iveco, Mercedes, DAF, Volvo, Renault and Scania. In the world of tippers, each product is made to individual order and adapted to the customer’s needs. An efficient design process for tippers is crucial at the beginning of the production cycle – in fact, this is where the process of product development begins, where all its elements are parameterized in relation to the customer’s requirements. An interview with KH KIPPER designers came to one conclusion – efficient tools lead to efficient design. For this reason, KH KIPPER designs with SOLIDWORKS software.
We manufacture tippers tailored to individual customer needs, so the work of the design department is very dynamic and requires the designer to use tools that enable him to work in such a model. In this case SOLIDWORKS is optimal, the decision for this software is not accidental. “With SOLIDWORKS, the designer can concentrate primarily on the work, on the design, on the implementation of new ideas instead of concentrating on the operation of the software,” explains Tomasz Łazarski, head of the construction department at KH KIPPER.
KH KIPPER checks the quality and feasibility of the design using the SOLIDWORKS simulation software, which makes it possible to check strength, stiffness and many other parameters. KH KIPPER designers also use the PDM system from SOLIDWORKS, which handles file organization for them.
KH KIPPER is supported by DPS Software, an authorized representative of SOLIDWORKS in Poland. Similarly to KH KIPPER, DPS Software has been operating in Poland for 23 years and supports 2500 customers with less than 3000 licenses. They provide advice on the selection of software and implementation and train engineering teams in its operation. Clients also benefit from free technical support with more than 3800 applications per year.
